Have you ever noticed how people are willing to change their lives when they think of death? How many people would you hug, kiss, or say you are sorry to if tomorrow didn't come? How many more risks would you take? When I think of 9-11, most of our trouble are SMALL stuff compared to death. Gandhi is right in saying LIVE as if you were to die tomorrow. He knows many of us would risk more and live fuller lives.

If you feel like you have exhausted yourself trying to achieve your goal, give yourself permission to stop and smell the roses. Rethink your plan, but first take a breathe. Then remember the reasons behind your plan. Often a successful person has to try, and try again. They may have to change their plan of attack a few times before reaching their success. The journey can often educate us along the way, or even lead us in a new direction. Be open to the possibilities before you.

There are many successful people out there who failed on their first few attempts. The key is to never give up!

When we build each other up, communicate effectively, and love one another we often give a lift to the soul. If you are feeling down about a relationship you are in, take a long look at the pattern you are establishing with them. Is there a lot of nagging, whining and pleading going on? Have you been taking each other for granted? Often we may even want to build a fire under someone to get them on the right track, and we feel we need to control their actions to bring about our own happiness. We can not control the actions of another, but we can maintain our own interaction. We can take a look at our own intention. How do you intend to build a fire within your loved one?

Sometimes we can build fires through silence. No, I don't mean the silent treatment. I mean touching your loved one and going for a walk holding hands. Expressing affection through the touch of your hands, a smile, and just allowing a quietness within. Bringing passion into a relationship requires very little talking. We can kiss, hug, cuddle, and caress our loved one.

We can also build a fire through positive communication. Giving thanks and showing gratitude. Expressing our desires for the future in a positive manner. Helping build another's dreams and uplifting them by giving assurance, and again promoting positive thinking when they lack confidence.

Today I woke up to find out the phone was not in service. So I am sorry if I was not available to take your call. I did get a chance to go and visit my parents, and enjoy the gorgeous sun. The key to happiness is finding the blessing in all situations.

I love my job on KEEN, but I believe I was given a little vacation for a very good reason. My parents have both been very ill. My stepdad suffers with pain on a daily basis and doctors have said there is nothing more they can do. My mom needs gallbladder surgery but refuses to leave her husband, and she certainly is filled with fears. I have offered that they come and live with me, but I have respected that they love their freedom and home.

There is nothing like having their grandsons drop by for a visit to help lift their spirits. My little adopted guy with Down syndrome certainly can bring a smile to their faces. He has been a constant joy to their hearts and today was no different. He's always teased his grandmother by withholding hugs since she tried to force feed him baby food he didn't like. Yet he is Pop Pop's boy with hugs and kisses. He did give his Grammy a kiss and hug goodbye, but he teased her a bit before hand.

Again, the key to happiness is finding the good even in the worst situations and staying positive about what is to come. I've been so blessed to have parents who have been supporting and loving, even when they did not understand my gifts. They have taken in my adopted son while my in-laws have no part of me or any of my children. I have learned acceptance, and certainly to count my blessings. Life is not always easy, but we can be happy when we focus on the good. So when your life is not going YOUR direction or the way you would hope, look for the window of opportunity. I believe there is a divine plan, and sometimes it's beyond our understanding.

Focus on making your dreams a reality. Today is a new day, and certainly a gift. Recently a friend of mine found out she has breast cancer. She has had to FOCUS on the blessing of today, and what she CAN do. She has been an inspiration to me and my family. Her focus is on the Lord, and her many blessings. I've been witness to the FOCUS of my adopted son with Down syndrome. He is a great achiever because he never gives up. He believes, and he achieves. I remind him to FOCUS because sometimes his mind can wander and he loses track of what he was intending on doing.

You can make your dreams a reality be merely making those dreams YOUR focus. If you are going through a rough time, focus on the good and the doors that will open ahead of you.

A friend of mine recently joined the KEEN family, and her first phone call just happened to be from a perverted fellow. Her listing can be found on FRIENDS and she is in no way interested in receiving phone calls from anyone who wants to talk about sex. However, if you have the need for someone to just listen to you and give words of advice, she is certainly open to that. She has worked with troubled teens and she has also worked in the prison system in the past. She is down to earth, but in need of some positive feedback and positive people. Kgirl4u2 is a Christian, and I hope everyone can give her a warm welcome. She has been going through some challenging times recently. I've known her for years, and I certainly commend her for joining KEEN to help others. She is beginning at an introductory rate of .99 a minute, so please give her a call.

Are your fears keeping you from reaching success? Today is a great day to walk in love and light. Often our fears keep us from even trying to make a difference in our own life. We allow our fears to blow up bigger than the reality sometimes, and it keeps us stuck in a stagnant situation. Sometimes we need to step outside of the box or our comfort zone just to gain confidance. It can be like putting your toe in the water to test and see if it's too hot or cold. Ask yourself today if you have a fear that is holding you back from making a needed change. Often we fear failure, and sometimes we even fear success. The idea of doing something that is unfamiliar can be scary. You CAN do anything you set your mind to do. Believe you can get beyond the fears and walk in faith and love.

Happiness is about our attitude. We can wake up and focus on the positives, or the negatives. We can seek out the blessings, or concentrate on all that seems wrong. If you talk to a couple who has been married for fifty years, you will find that they focused on the positives and ignored the negatives a lot of the time. They looked for a reason to love their mate, and they may have even reminded themselves of the COMMITMENT. Through better or worst we can find the better or certainly find the worst in our mates, and I believe Robert Anderson is right in saying it's a trick to find the best in our mates and a reason to stay married.

Marriage certainly is a garden and we need to tend to it. Plant seeds of kindness, forgiveness and love. Keep the communication honest and loving. Weed out issues as soon as they crop up, but avoid heated debates by saying "I love you too much to argue, let's talk about this when we both are calm." Otherwise you may say things you don't mean. Plan date nights at least once a month if you can. Be the mate you would want to marry or stay married to. A lot of times we can blame our spouse for what he or she isn't doing while we do nothing but complain. Plant COMPLIMENTS instead of complaints in your marriage. Often couples take each other for granted after some time together. Focus on your part and make sure you are tending to your marriage. Sprinkle your marriage with laughter and let go of issues that are petty. When you think of 9-11 most issues are very small.
