Why is it Important for me to learn about my Chakras?

The following information is for you to do a self-analysis to help you increase the energy centers that you rated lowest in. By understanding what thoughts or issues may cause a chakra to stagnate (not develop fully) is key in helping you gain more self-knowledge.

The statements below are to help you in your own self-analysis. These questions are for you to reflect on and if you feel that you may be having problems in certain areas then try bringing in color through different methods ,

For more information or further advice read books on the chakra system (see below for some books that I recommend) or visit a professional aura and chakra counsellor (qualified aura/chakra therapists are trained counsellors such as Aurastar 2000 practitioners or a medical intuitives). Part One

These questions are connected to your Red Root chakra power.
The Root chakra is your main power station and it is connected to your physical vitality and endurance, mental perseverance and it is the center that gives you your life's passion. The root center is also your connection to your existence.

Issues to review are:

Are you physically fit?
Was there or is there currently any abuse (physical or verbal) in your life?
Are you able to put your thoughts into action?
Do you accomplish most of your goals?
Are money and a home very important to you?
Have you had any recent thoughts of self-destruction?

Ways to bring in the RED energy and boost your Root chakra power are:

Incorporate physical activities such as an exercise program or yoga.
Eat red foods and consume red drinks.
Use aromatherapy oils such as sandalwood, ylang ylang or juniper (consult a specially trained aromatherapist or aura counselor to find the right oils for your specific chakra needs). Note: Every therapeutic oil or essence has its own healing power that can help with specific issues relating to each chakra.
Stimulating music with deep beats such as drums or music that makes your body move like Latin American music. (Many metaphysical outlets have diversified selections of chakra music.)
Wear or carry a red gemstones. Red stones would be Red Tiger's Eye, Garnet, Red Jasper or Ruby.
Bathe in the red color in your clothing, Color BathT, decor, art, etc.

Part Two

These questions are connected to your Orange Spleen chakra power.
The Spleen chakra is your sensing power station, connecting you to your feeling sensitivities. It is the center that allows you to live consciously, in the "now." The spleen center is also the link to your enthusiasm, happiness and joy-your inner-child.

Issues to review are:

Are you emotionally stable or do your emotions go from one extreme to another?
Do you try to hide or control your feelings?
Is your inner child still alive, enthusiastic and uninhibited?
Can you think outside of the box or is your creative perception restricted?
Are your sexual relationships mutual and respectful, and can you be totally comfortable with your partner with no limitations such as frigidity or impotence?
Do you feel disconnected from reality and do you have a difficult living in the present moment?

Ways to bring in the ORANGE energy and boost your Spleen chakra power are:

Hot aromatic baths. Water aerobics. Deep tissue massage. Emotional movies. Cooking classes. Embracing sensation (such as different food tastes).
Eat orange foods and consume orange drinks.
Use aromatherapy oils such as Melissa, Orange, Mandarin, Neroli, Tangerine.
Music with a bounce or that flows (running water, thunderstorms, etc.). Harp.
Wear or carry an orange gemstone or copper piece. Orange stones would be Coral or Carnelian.
Bathe in the orange color in your clothing, Color BathT, decor, art, etc.

Part Three

These questions are connected to your Yellow Solar Plexus chakra power.
The Yellow chakra is your mental awareness, which connects you to your mind power. It is the center that governs your ability to learn and comprehend. The solar plexus center is known to govern your ego and your will power. It is the sun center that emits optimism and confidence.

Issues to review are:

Are you too flexible and are your focus and concentration abilities poor?
Do you lack confidence that you are overly concerned with what other people think?
Are your thoughts clouded so that you have a difficult time making decisions?
Do you take on too much responsibility because you think you know best?
Are you a perfectionist and prefer to do things yourself?
Are you afraid to be alone?

Ways to bring in the YELLOW energy and boost your Solar Plexus chakra power are:

Taking classes, reading informative books, doing mind puzzles. Developing one's photographic memory. Sunshine. Detoxification programs.
Eat yellow foods and consume yellow beverages.
Use aromatherapy oils such as Rosemary, Lemon, Grapefruit, Bergamot.
Music that is mentally stimulating such as chimes. Reed and Horn Instruments.
Wear or carry a yellow gemstone or something gold. Yellow stones would be Citrine, Amber, Topaz.
Bathe in the yellow color in your clothing, Color BathT, decor, art, etc.

Part Four

These questions are connected to your Green Heart chakra power.
The Green chakra is your heart power station, connecting you to your emotions. It is the center that allows you to love and give unconditionally. The heart center governs your relationships. It is the energy center that integrates one's physical reality to one's spiritual connection.

Issues to review are:

Do you accept yourself for who you are or do you lack self-love?
Do you feel that you are not worthy of living life fully or do you feel stifled (feel a lack of freedom in your life)?
Are you indecisive because you can't make up your mind?
Do you have a hard time saying "no" to people?
Do you have a fear of being rejected or abandoned?
Are you envious and jealous of what other people have?

Ways to bring in the GREEN energy and boost your Heart chakra power are:

Nature hikes. Spending time with family or friends. Surrounding yourself with plants. Gardening. Taking self-love courses. Reading romantic novels or watching romantic movies. Candlelight dinners.
Eat green foods and consume green drinks.
Use aromatherapy oils such as Eucalyptus, Pine, Tea Tree, Spearmint, Cedarwood.
Music that has the sounds of nature.
Wear or carry a green gemstone. Green stones would be Aventurine, Emerald, Jade, Malachite, Peridot.

Part Five

These questions are connected to your Blue Throat chakra power.
The Blue chakra is your communication power station. It is the center that handles incoming and outgoing messages. It is through this center that we voice our opinions and our truths.

Issues to review are:

Are you able to express yourself and your beliefs (voice your inner truth)?
Do you have the ability to trust others without doubt?
Do you have good organization and planning skills?
Are you able to free yourself of old family values, beliefs and commitments especially regarding their relationship to responsibility?

Ways to bring in the BLUE energy and boost your throat chakra power are:

Singing (in the shower) and toning. Poetry, stamp or art collecting. Meaningful conversations. Taking self-development courses. Attending church or spiritual functions. Journaling. Neck and shoulder rolls.
Eat blue foods and consume blue beverages.
Use aromatherapy oils such as Geranium, Chamomile, Peppermint, Mint, Cypress.
Music that is repetitive, such as echoes or sounds of ocean waves.
Wear or carry a blue gemstone. Blue stones would be Sodalite, Lapis Lazuli, Sapphire, Blue Agate.

Part Six

These questions are connected to your Indigo Brow chakra power.

Are you able to develop your psychic and intuitive abilities?
Can you release your fears and anxieties or do you hang on to negative thoughts?

Ways to bring in the INDIGO energy and boost your Brow chakra power are:

Focusing on dreams and writing down one's visions and inventions. Quiet contemplation, meditation and yoga. Listening to guided meditation tapes. Taking spiritual courses.
Eat violet foods and consume violet beverages.

Cleansing the Aura and Chakras

The Aura and chakras reflect our psychical mental emotional and spiritual wellbeing and if our aura becomes muddy or the chakras are not balanced and have impurities or disharmonies within them this can lead to blockages in the spirit and energy field and bodies, often leading to poor general wellbeing and a lack of energy, plus we may take on extra negativities as we are more open to them and not so well protected or able to fend off these imbalances. This cleansing will also help to balance the meridians.

To cleanse the aura, going out into the countryside can be very beneficial to places that help you to relax and cleanse your self such as woodlands, hills, seashores or waterfalls, also taking a shower can be cleansing. Or if you prefer you can do a cleansing meditation, imaging yourself standing under a waterfall allowing the pure refreshing waters to flow over you cleansing the aura, or you might see yourself in a lake or in the ocean allowing all the imbalances in your aura to flow away being replaced by refreshing and invigorating energies making you feel whole. There are other methods to cleanse the aura such as misting the aura with various cleansing sprays that you can buy in various aura flower essences or essential oil cleansing sprays ready made or add to a fine spray bottle. Also smudging the aura is another method with smudge sticks that you can buy such as white sage, you run these through your aura or burn them in a closed room filling the air with them.

To cleanse the seven main chakras see them in their normal colours, base or root red, sacral orange, solar plexus yellow, heart green, throat indigo, brow purple and crown violet, see each chakra as a spinning ball of the correct coloured light starting with the base or root chakra which is red and moving up, see if you can see any impurities within them such as dark spots one at a time, see these dark spots become clear and the pure colour of each chakra, then draw in the energies and white cleansing light of spirit through your nose, see the light entering each chakra one at a time cleansing each chakra then breath this energy back out through your mouth tacking away any disharmonies or blockages.

Crystals, Healing and Consciousness

Crystals have been used for healing and energy work as far back as human history reaches. Everything, all matter and life is energy, with its own vibrational frequency, and crystals are no different. Each variation has a unique vibrational level, this is a reason for example that quartz for instance is used in electronic devices from watches, to computers. When energy is applied or transmitted through, it expands and amplifies the energy.

Crystals have the ability to store and program energy and when introduced into the energy field of the human body can direct and transmute energy. The structure of crystals is based on the arrangement of the atoms in its makeup. Crystalline structure is the most perfect on earth and has attracted the wonder of the human mind since the beginning. Metaphysical attributes have been associated with crystals since humans have been conscious of their many uses, when humans were more in touch with nature and right brain, intuition based thinking.

Crystals also have the ability, through incorporating them with meditation and metaphysics (which modern physics will come to combine with in the coming years) allow us to perceive different levels of consciousness. Some crystals for emample, such as Herkimer Diamond Quartz Crystals (NY - USA), Lemurian Seed Crystals (Brazil), and Moldavite (Czech Republic) are very high vibration crystals and can have a very deep impact on not only the energy field of human beings, but can also have profound effects on consciousness. Through meditation (the tuning in of the mind / consciousness with higher awareness) information can be obtained from these higher states of being and help to activate the third eye (pineal gland / Minds eye - the part of the brain associated with intuition and "psychic" awareness).

The ancients, were very much in tune with nature, energy and their relationship to the whole of creation before the last shift in planetary consciousness thousands of years ago. In todays modern society it is easy to see how that connection must be established once again to rise above the issues facing us.

How to Choose a Crystal

As we are becoming more and more aware of the healing effects of crystals and gemstones on our health, it is only natural to look for information on how to use them. This article is a first in a series of educational information to aid you on your path to healing with gemstones and crystals. We will start this series by sharing a little information on how crystals work and then go onto learning how to choose them!

In simple, easy to understand terms, the reason why crystals and gemstones make wonderful healing tools is because of what science calls its piezoelectric effects. You can see this effect in modern Quartz watches. Crystals and stones respond to the electricity that is coursing through our body, if the energy is unbalanced, the constant electrical vibrations of the stones will help to harmonize, balance, and regulate the flow of these energies.

Now that we know how crystals work to aid in our healing process, let's learn how to choose one.
There are many methods of selecting your crystals and gemstones, these are just a few.

The first method is to simply close your eyes and quietly meditate for a few moments. When you are ready, open your eyes very quickly and pick up the first stone to which your eyes become naturally drawn.

The next method is to run your left hand, your receiving hand, over all of the stones available for purchase. (You use your left hand because the left side of the body brings energy/information in more strongly in most people.) You will soon discover that one of the stones will make the palm of your hand tingle or get warm, this is your stone!

You may also intuitively 'know' which stone you should choose and which is right for you. You might feel as if the stone is jumping up and down and shouting "choose me, choose me!!" You may also sense or
even 'see' white light radiating from the stone drawing you in like a magnet!

If you are a competent dowser then you should be able to choose the appropriate stone with your own individual techniques. In July's newsletter there is an article on how to use a pendulum for dowsing if you would like to try this method.

Sometimes you even feel as if the stone is choosing you! They come to you with a particular purpose and have a special reason for wanting you to work with them. Just accept this when it happens and count
it as a blessing :-)

Unfortunately many of us do not have access to retail shops that carry a good line of healing stones and crystals. But in today's world we have the internet and mail order catalogs that offer just about any stone you could possibly need. It is very easy to choose stones over the internet if pictures are provided on the web site. Just look through the photos of the stones and let your intuition guide you into choosing which stones are best for you. It is really that easy!

Once you have chosen your new 'stone friends' it is time to take them home and prepare them for use. Next month we will learn how to cleanse our crystals and gemstones and why we do this.

CLEARING GEMSTONES AND CRYSTALS

Sometimes a stone or crystal you are strongly drawn to doesn't feel good, or a stone that felt good previously doesn't feel goo now. The stone or crystal may need to be cleared. Clearing is necessary before using any stone for healing. The clearer the energy of a healing stone, the more powerful it is. Crystals and healing gemstones need to be cleared as soon as they are purchased as well as clearing after every healing. A cleared, ready crystal feels positive and bright, tingly and cold to the touch. A crystal that needs clearing may feel hot, heavy or drained. There are a number of ways to effectively clear crystals and gemstones.

A.SEA SALT- Sea salt is the most traditional purifying agent in psychic work and healing. It dispels any sort of dis-ease and negativity, and is a physical and psychic disinfectant. I feel it is the most accepted and probably the most powerful method of clearing crystals and stones. I highly recommend it for the initial cleansing of a new healing stone. **However, over use of this method may cause your stones to become dull and lifeless. Salt can be mixed with water or used dry. To use salt water, mix a tablespoon of sea salt in a glass or ceramic cup of cold water. Do not use plastic or metal containers. Place the stones in the solution and allow to soak overnight. To use dry salt, place the sea salt in a glass or non plastic container and bury the crystals with the points facing downward into the salt. Again, leave overnight. Sometimes a stone may take longer to clear, especially if it has been used in a deep, intense healing. If this is the case, leave another day or two in the sea salt. When clearing gemstone necklaces it is best to use the dry sea salt method. Be sure to use sea salt only, table salt contains aluminum and other chemicals. For those who live by the ocean, salt water can be brought from the beach in a jar, or gently wash them directly in the ocean.

B. MOONLIGHT- Moonlight is another way of clearing your gemstones. Simply place outside from the Full to the New Moon. Waning Moons are good times to clear crystals, to dispel old energies, but any time works. The amount of time used varies with the sensitivity of the healer and the amount of material from which the stone needs cleansing. Try hanging your gemstone necklaces in a tree where the moonlight can cleanse them. (I personally do not recommend ever placing your crystals and gemstones in the sunlight, many stones tend to fade their colors in the sun. Also internal fractures may cause your stone to crack or break if placed in the sun.)

OTHER METHODS THAT WORK WELL- Burying your crystal in a cupful of dried herbs will also clear it. Suggested herbs for this are rose petals, sage, frankincense, myrrh, and sandalwood. You can usually find these at low cost at many co-ops or herb stores. This is a gentle way to clear crystals, and a pleasant way, but it does take longer than sea salt.

Crystals may also be buried into the Earth. This is especially helpful when you feel deep cleansing is needed. Outdoors, simply dig a hole the size of your crystal into the Earth, place your crystal again point down, and cover with soil. The amount of time needed is personal choice. Be sure to place a Popsicle stick or some other marker to insure you fine your stone again!!! For apartment dwellers, use a flower pot to bury your stone in.

A quick way to cleanse your healing stones is to smudge them with burning cedar or sage. Smudging is an excellent way to make sure your stones are purified. Simply hold the burning sage or cedar stick while passing your stone through the smoke. I usually do this a couple times to ensure cleansing. I also like to cleanse my stones by smudging after every healing.

Finally, if you are in a hurry and feel that your crystal needs to be cleared, you can easily run them under cool tap water. Make sure the points are facing down the drain to run the negative energy right down the sink!!! NEVER USE WARM OR HOT WATER, THIS WILL FRACTURE OR BREAK YOUR CRYSTALS. Visualize the crystal as sparkly, tingly, cold, and belonging to the healer.

PROGRAMMING AND DEDICATING STONES

After you choose and clear your gemstone or crystal, it is a good idea to dedicate it or program it. The purpose of programming a crystal or gemstone is to focus its abilities on something you specifically need, thereby magnifying the stone's intent through your own. The purpose of dedicating the stone to a high level healing energy or Goddess (God) is to protect it from negative energy. A crystal or stone that is programmed and dedicated in these ways becomes much more powerful and useful as a tool.
This is a very simple process. Hold the crystal or gemstone in your hand and sense its energy. With the stone being newly cleared, the energy will feel stronger and even more appealing that before. As you sense this energy and appreciate it, ask quietly to be connected to the deva of the crystal or gemstone. Though not animate, stones are living things and the deva of the piece is the stone's life-force energy. Once you feel you have sensed what you can from the energy, think of what you will be using the stone for. Think of these uses, then quietly ask the gemstone if it is willing to act in the way you wish. The crystals energy may increase with a yes or seem to disappear with a no. If the stone accepts your intent, state in your mind that it be so. Once a stone is programmed, it will hold its intent until you or someone else reprograms it.

To prevent any negative energy from attaching itself to your crystal you may with to dedicate it. To do this, simply hold the crystal or gemstone in your hand and state clearly in your mind: "Only the most positive high-level energy may work through this healing tool". Focus on your intent for awhile, then end your sensing (meditation) with "SO BE IT". The stone is now dedicated. You may also choose to dedicate your gemstone or crystal to a specific healing energy, for example, to a Goddessof healing. There are many healing goddesses, including Isis, Yemaya, Diana, and White Buffalo Calf Woman. For stones programmed for protection, Hecate or Kali are strong protection Goddesses.

Laying on of Stones

The technique of using crystals and gemstones on the receiver's body for healing is called laying on of stones. It is a powerful method of cleansing negative energy, clearing and balancing the chakras, effecting emotional release, and bringing light and healing into all the aura bodies. Cleared, programmed, and dedicated stones move the receiver's vibration into alignment with the planet and the universal grid. This results in a freeing of life force energy in the chakras and aura, a healing of the Body of Light, and a transformation of negative or dis-ease into health.

The process may be done with clear quartz crystals only, colored gemstones only, or a combination of both. The stones may be used alone or with a hands on healing (ie;Reiki). The stones are placed upon the receiver's body from feet to head. The healer then begins using her hands as usual starting at the head and moving toward the feet. (Use gemstones with colors matching each chakra's color. The stones can be in any form-faceted, raw, tumbled, eggs, or beads.) Energy in this type of healing needs to move in one direction through the body, either Earth to sky or sky to Earth. If the energy is Earth to sky, all the gemstones that have points are placed with the points turned towards the receiver's crown. The effect of this direction is to move the receiver's energy to a higher vibration or more spiritual level. If the direction is from sky to Earth, it is the opposite, with the crystals pointing toward the feet. This direction moves life force energy from crown to feet for grounding and rooting into Earth. To begin, the receiver lies on her back on a padded floor or massage table, with pillows under her head and knees for comfort. The space should be quiet, comfortable, and warm. Use only stones that have been dedicated to positive energy and programmed for healing. Invite spirit guides and angels into the session if you wish.

Start by placing a clear quartz crystal above her head and below her feet. In the right hand place another crystal and in the left hand place a rose quartz gemstone. (my personal method). Then go chakra by chakra, moving from the feet to crown and placing the appropriate colored gemstone for each center. (Be sure you have your healing stones spread out where you can reach them easily.) There may be stones that you are drawn to for a particular reason, let yourself be guided, there are no real rules. You cannot do it wrong. A stone that is not needed for the session or is inappropriate for the receiver's energy will roll right off or roll to another place where it is better utilized. Allow this to occur. If the receiver feels uncomfortable with a particular stone, remove it, the energy is not right for her needs. In some cases you may feel the stone has rolled off too soon, if your intuition is telling you the stone's job is not complete, gently replace it. When the stones are all in place, the healer has two options. She (he) can go to the head and begin a hands on healing. Be sure to cover the stones with your hands carefully in order not to scatter the gemstones. While your hands are covering each chakra over the stone, visualize the bright color of the gemstone entering the chakra, making it appear bright, balanced, centered, and healthy. (If you could see chakras they would appear as luminous wheels, circles, or disks. Each chakra is brightly colored and are strung together like shiny beads all in a row from your feet to your head.) Do this visualization until you feel confident to move to the next chakra. Be sure to flick fingers to release any negative energy before going to the next center. End with a complete brushing of the aura.

The other option a healer has once the stones are placed is to sit beside the receiver and simply wait, allowing the gemstones and spirit guides to do the healing. As the receiver's chakras and aura absorb and are balanced by the crystal and gem energies, the stones begin to roll off one by one. When all the stones are off, or the receiver feels finished with those that remain, the healing is over. End with a complete brushing of the aura and allow the receiver to lie quietly without the stones. Ask for feedback and discuss anything that you feel should be discussed. While she is doing this, the healer can gather up the stones from the table or floor and clear them again before putting them away. Put them into your protective box.

A laying on of stones healing can be quite intense. There is often a major energy shift during this type of healing. More frequent emotional releases, past life and this life trauma openings and other transformative events. The healers role in this is to wait for the release to end and to be entirely non-judgmental. After a session, there may also be a physical detoxification process that
can continue for up to a week. Be aware of what is happening and again, allow it. The changes are always positive and are usually gentle.

Protective Circle For Your Home-
When I am away on business trips I like to know that my home is being protected. Protected from burglary and of course the storms of mother nature. Here is a simple way to make a permanent protective circle around your home. Things you will need: A sage bundle and your protection crystal. (the sage is used to cleanse your room/home of unwanted energies and the crystal is used to add protection). You will be doing this ritual indoors. First off it is good to ground and center yourself. Once you have done that it is time to light the sage bundle, get it smoking really good by blowing on it. Once the sage is smoking hold it in your hand and start to walk around your room in a counter clockwise direction. Blow smoke into each corner of your room as well as above and under doors and windows. Your room is not cleansed of unwanted energies.

The next step is to take your protection crystal ( I like to use a large Amethyst specimen) and program it for protection. You do this by holding it in your left hand, now take your right hand and place it over the top of the crystal. Say out loud something like "I dedicate this stone to protect my house and home, and so it is". Once you have programmed your protection crystal you simple hold it in your hands and walk around your room in a clockwise direction. Concentrate on forming a seal of protection that cannot be broken. That's all there is too it!!! Have fun with this exercise, you can also make a more elaborate ceremony if you wish, it is up to you.

HEALING STONES FOR MEN

Men have always been fascinated with gemstones and crystals. In ancient times carved crystal amulets offered protection from battle wounds, evil spirits, and poisoned wine. Polished gemstones were embedded into shields for protection during wartime and they drank out of goblets carved from Amethyst to prevent drunkenness! So it really is no surprise that today most of the lapidary (cutter and polisher of gemstones) are still men.

In today's world most men prefer to use gemstones for personal adornment in jewelry, but there are more and more who are once again becoming interested as to the healing effects of their Ruby or Diamond ring they wear each day. Of course, men as well as women have issues that need to be healed, it is just much harder for them to talk about it. Some of these issues may be lack of self-esteem and power, stress related issues, health issues, lack of communication, and emotional issues. I truly feel if men allow themselves to heal with the power of gemstones and crystals they will have a much fuller and happier life.

If you are uncomfortable with wearing a crystal to work, simply hide it under your T-shirt or place it in your shirt or pants pocket wear it will go unnoticed. I also suggest placing a large crystal specimen in your office of business; after all, they are decorative objects! If someone asks, just tell him or her that your kid, niece or nephew is interested in geology! I will now go onto listing the gemstones that I feel will be beneficial to men for healing their issues.

Amethyst- Wonderful for transmuting all forms of negativity. A large plate of Amethyst crystals will protect you from hostility, great for the office! An amethyst crystal placed on the body or in a pocket will make you calm when feeling stressed. It is also helpful for headaches and arthritic pain.

Garnet- Great for strengthening physical and emotional energy. Provides the grounding needed to help with decision-making allowing thoughts to flow. Garnet stimulates life force by drawing energy into the body.

Hematite- Heals anger and rage, provides courage in the workplace, fosters peace and non-aggression and above all is very grounding. It is good to have a tumbled hematite to hold when feeling angry.

Jade- Opens and heals the heart, frees one from anger, selfishness and greed. Encourages service to the planet, soothes the emotions, encourages giving to others. Promotes trust in God/Goddess. Aids movement on one's path.

Malachite- Detoxifies the emotional body, releases negative/painful emotions, and promotes wealth in business relationships. Preventive medicine for the heart and liver. Deep healing and cleansing.

Smoky Quartz- This crystal is used to prevent mood swings, aggressive behavior, and all types of negativity. Great for the man who is burned out, has a fear of failure, or who smokes or drinks due to stress. Smoky Quartz is called "The Emotional Balancer".

I suggest at night to place your crystals on a nightstand or under your pillow. Remember to cleanse and recharge your crystals at least once a month for best results. You may wish to review my article on how use crystals and stones for healing.

HEALING STONES FOR CHILDREN

In this article I will give you suggestions of healing stones that I feel are good for children. Children are very curious by nature, and many of them start rock collections at a very early age. I do not know if they look for rocks because they are somewhat intune to these energies or if they are just so close to the ground that they easily spot rocks. Whatever the reason there are many stones that are wonderful to use with children.

Rose Quartz is a good choice because it exhibits gentle positive vibrations which allow children to receive the love they may be missing. Rose Quartz is an all around great stone for issues of love.

Carnelian Agate encourages love between parents and children. Helps girls to appreciate their bodies while aiding creativity.

Tigers Eye teaches them to listen to their intuition while providing self-esteem. Promotes courage to do the right thing. A good protection stone while traveling.

Golden Calcite is another great stone for building self-esteem and also provides courage.

Pink Tourmaline is a good choice for children recovering from abuse. Brings deep comforting love energy. Transforms negative behavior into positive.

Hematite is highly protective and dispels negativity. Gives children strength and courage. Aids the child during time of divorce, helps them to understand that it is not their fault for this divorce. Note*
A great way for a small child to carry a healing stone with them is by tying a bead onto their shoelaces, they receive the healing energy and do not lose the stone!!

Color & Candle Correspondences

Color results from our interpretation of different kinds and waves of light. Although there are an infinite number of colors, they can be broken down into seven secondary colors: red, orange, green, yellow, blue, indigo, and violet. In turn, these seven colors can be factored down to the three primary colors -- red, green, and yellow. Combined, the primary colors (when dealing with light only) factor down to white, or what we interpret as white. Black, by the way is not really a color, but the absence of color -- the direct opposite of light.
Light is vibratory. Each color vibrates at a different rate of speed. For example, red is the fastest vibrating color, and is a stimulatory color to the human interpretation process. Violet is the lowest vibrating color, and tends to calm the nervous system. The various vibratory waves of light can be utilized by the human brain for healing, meditation, and magick.
Using color in your work falls under the heading of practical magick, as it is the employment of an element -- that of light. It is not immediately dangerous and you are not dealing with a host of unknown factors, unless you get in to the use of various kinds of light, such as ultraviolet.

Candle Magic

Candle Magic

         1    One of the simplest of magical arts which comes under
         the heading of natural magic is candle burning. It is simple
         because it employs little ritual and few ceremonial
         artifacts. The theatrical props of candle magic can be
         purchased at any department store and its rituals can be
         practiced in any sitting room or bedroom.

         2    Most of us have performed our first act of candle magic
         by the time we are two years old. Blowing out the tiny
         candles on our first birthday cake and making a wish is pure
         magic. This childhood custom is based on the three magical
         principals of concentration, will power and visualization.
         In simple terms, the child who wants his wish to come true
         has to concentrate (blow out the candles), visualize the end
         result (make a wish) and hope that it will come true( will
         power).

         3    The size and shape of the candles you use is
         unimportant, although highly decorative, etra large, or
         unusually shaped candles will not be suitable as these may
         create distractions when the magician wants to concentrate
         on the important work in hand. Most magicians prefer to us
        use candles of standard or uniform size if possible. Those
        which are sold in different colors for domestic use are ideal.

         4    The candles you use ofr any type of magical use should
         be virgin, that is unused. Under no circumstances use a
         candle which has already adorned a dinner table or been
        used as a bedroom candle or night-light. There is a very good
        occult reason for not using anything but virgin materials in
         magic. Vibrations picked up by secondhand materials or
         equipment may disturb your workings and negate their
         effectiveness.

         5    Some magicians who are artistically inclined prefer to
         make their own candles for ritual and magical use. This is a
        very practical exercise because not only does it impregnate
         the candle with your own personal vibrations, but the mere
         act of making your own candle is magically potent.
         Specialist shops sell candle wax and moulds together with
         wicks, perfumes, and other equipment.

         6    The hot wax is heated until liquid and then poured into
         the mould through which a suitably sized wick has already
         been threaded. The wax is then left to cool and once is this
         has occured the mould is removed , leaving a perfectly
         formed candle. Special oil-soluble dyes and perfumes can
        be added to the wax before the cooling process is complete to
         provide suitable colors and scents for a particular magical
         ritual. Craft shops which sell candlemaking supplies can
         also provide do-it-yourself books explaining the technicalities
         of the art to the beginner.

         7    Once you have purchased or made your ritual candle it
         has to be oiled or 'dressed' before burning. The purpose of
         dressing the candle is to establish a psychic link between it
         and the magician through a primal sensory experience. By
         physically touching the candle during the dressing
         proceedure, you are charging it with our pwn personal
         vibrations and also concentrating the desire of your magical
         act into the wax. The candle is becoming an extension of
        the magician's mental power and life energy.

         8    When you dress a candle for magical use, imagine that
         it is a psychic magnet with a North and a South pole. Rub
         the oil into the canlde beginning at the top or North end and
         work downwards to the half-way point. Always brush in the
         same direction downwards. This process is then repeated by
         beginning at the bottome or south end and working up to the
         middle.

         9    The best type of oils to use for dressing candles are
         natural ones which can be obtained quite easily. Some
        occult suppliers will provide candle magic oils with exotic
         names. If the magician does not want to use these, he can
        select suitable oils or perfumes from his own sources. The
         oils soluble perfumes sold by craft shops for inclusion in
         candles can be recommended.

         10   the candles you use can be colored in accordance with
         the following magical uses:

                  white- spirituality and peace.
                  red- health,energy,strength,courage, sexual potency.
                  pink- love affection and romance.
                  yellow- intellectualism, immagination, memory and
                          creativity
                  green- fertility, abundance, good luck and harmony
                  blue-inspiration, occult wisdom, protection and
                        devotion
                  purple Material wealth, higher psychic ability,
                         spiritual power and idealism
                  silver- clairvoyance, inspiration, astral energy and
                         intuition
                  orange- ambition. carrer matters and the law.

         11   If you wanted to use candle magic for healing, you
         would select a red candle to burn. To pass an exam, burn a
         yellow candle, to gain esoteric knowledge burn a blue candle
         or for material gain, burn a purple one. It is obvious these
         colors relate to the signs of the zodiac and the planetary
         forces.

         12   The simples form of canlde magic is to write dosn the
         objective of your ritual on a virging piece of paper. You
         can use color paper which matches the candle. Write your
         petition on the paper using a magical alphabet, such as
         the ban, enochian, malachain,etc. As you write down what
         you want to accomplish through candle magic-- a new job,
         healing for a friend, a change of residence, a new love affair,
         etc.-- visualize your dream coming true. Visualize the
         circumstances under which you might be offered a new job,
         imagine your employer telling you that your salary has been
         increased or cinjure up a vision of your perfect love
         partner.

         13   When you have completed writing down your petition,
         carefully fold up the paper in a deliberately slow fashion.
         Place the end of the folded paper in the candle flame and set
         light to it. As you do this concentrate once more on what
         you want from life.

         14   When you have completed your ritual, allow the candle
         to have completely burned away. You do not need to stay
         with the candle after the ritual, but make sure that is is safe
         and that red-hot wax will not cause damage or fire. Never
         re-use a candle which has been lit in any magical ritual. IT
         should only be used in that ritual and then allowed to burn
         away or be disposed of afterwards.

         15   If you are conducting a magical ritual which involves
         two people (e.g. an absent healing for a person some
        distance away) then the second person can be symbollically
         represented during the ritual by another candle. /all you
         need to do is find out the subject's birth date and burn the
         appropriate candle for that zodiacal sign. These are as
         follows-

PORTALS

Portals are interdimensional openings, doorways, stargates, bridges, wormholes that transport entities from one reality to another.
Some people say they can travel through physical portals while others move through portals of the mind or consciousness.
In our reality - created by electro-magnetic energies - portals are disruptions in the grid patterns - which allow us to move between realms. As with all things in our reality, they are in a constant state of change. Portals open and close.
The nature of our reality is an electro-magnetic grid system which contain many grid realities. When one moves through portals - either with the body - or the mind - one moves from grid to grid.
Portals link to the spiraling energies of time and space. (Sacred Geometry)These spiral energies allow our consciousness to spiral / move from one grid reality to another.
Portals exist at planetary grid points that open and close from one dimension to another, but they can be found just about anywhere. Large, stronger portals, are found in power places, such as the Great Pyramid, Stonehenge, the Mayan Pyramids, Machu Picchu, and other sacred sites.
In space - the universe - we have portals called black holes.
Portals are associated with planetary grids points where information and entities flow back and form. This links with UFO sightings as space craft seem to move in and out of our reality through interdimensional portals.
Just as we are aware that there are other dimensions in which entities exist - we come to understand that there is movement between these dimensions through portals.
In metaphysics we are drawn to sacred sites as places of initiation to help us awaken the information we cannot access in our physical bodies - who am I? why am I here now? what is this 'mission feeling' I have? Planet Earth works at a slow vibratory rate - third dimension or third frequency - or third level of consciousness. There are times in our lives when we travel through portals to experience beyond third dimension - such as dream time, meditation, etc. where there is no time nor space - just faster moving experiences in a faster frequency. It is there we gain access to information of higher knowledge. this happens only when you are ready to understand what is beyond third dimension and wish to move through portals of body, mind and soul.

We all have portals in our homes though most of us are not aware that they are there.
Some homes have more than one portal.
They open and close at various times for different reasons - few portals remaining open all the time. They vary in size and shape.
People use various techniques to find portals in their homes:
Temperature sensations
Change in energy patterns
Dowsing, (which is a great method as it is a change in the electromagnetic fields)
Hiring psychics (they are senstive to such things)
Audio equipment to find changes in sensitivites in their home
A mirror or window is often a portal. A bathroom mirror can be used as a portal to receive messages when it is steamed up.
Many people report having portals are in their closets.
