Vesuvian Eruptions !
Yesterday in the deep south of England a rumble was heard in the distance, slowly but surely getting louder until finally the primeval scream of a woman tipped over the edge was heard loud and clear by anyone within a 50 mile radius.
What had happened? Was this some earth shattering disaster that was taking place, was death and destruction happening on a massive scale?
Eh no! just my daughter saying “I’ll do it later” one time too many. That was it Vesuvius erupted on a magnitude not seen for a long time. This eruption went on and on until eventually I got in touch with my male side and stormed down the garden into my shed. (The Shed one of the few male inventions I shall be ever grateful for).
I sat in the shed and let myself soak up the peace and quiet, (as well as the smell of paint, nitromors and paint thinner, the high was amazing haha) and realised the eruption had been caused because I feel so much of my life is out of my hands at the moment, I am waiting for other people to take action so I can get on with what I need to do.
I am waiting for my daughter to do her bit so I can get on and organise the change over and re-decoration of rooms.
I am waiting for Keen to remove feedback left on my listing complaining that the free 3 minutes they give to new members isn’t enough to get a decent reading, which it isn’t, callers are supposed to pay for more minutes to get a full reading, this feedback could slow my business down considerably and it’s not even a complaint about the reading which I couldn’t help with anyway because the caller only wanted me to tell them how to market their business and I’m not a business consultant.
I am waiting to see if my Landlord is going to get my central heating boiler re-situated because of a ridiculous complaint by neighbours saying the fumes from the outlet pipe is stopping them from enjoying their garden, which is strange considering they don’t spend anytime in their garden anyway, and if we are all sitting in our gardens it’s because the weather is nice and I don’t have my central heating on, there is an occasional brief whiff of gas fumes if the wind happens to be blowing in the wrong direction which has happened only twice in the last 6 years.
I am waiting to see if I will have enough money to keep my car on the road when insurance, car tax, and MOT (a road test cars in the UK have to go through yearly) are all due and need paying for at the end of this month.
So what can I do, well I can accept that I cannot and am not in charge of every situation or other people, recognise what I know to be true that I am in charge of me and my reactions to things and people, accept that sometimes delays happen, usually to our benefit even if we can’t see it. Remember when other people are involved things won’t always go my way and I may have to adjust my plans or my thinking accordingly. That as long as I do what I can with what I can, I can then rest easy until it’s my turn to step up again.
Most of all remember that Spirit has a sneaky way of testing us on lessons we think we have already learnt, just to make sure we keep on the right track.
We need to explode sometimes to clear the air, but try and explode in a controlled manner, and after the explosion sit and examine your part in it and the true cause of the explosion otherwise you might just continue exploding.
If you need me today I’ll be in the shed!....(now was it two parts thinners and 3 parts nitromors or the other way round hehehe)
