Need Help With A Bit Of A Problem Please Peeps.

I know in Native American Medicine when you are asking Great Spirit for something if you wish you can leave an offering of tobacco.

Would it be being disrespectful if I left an offering of tobacco in the hands of my Buddha, after doing my meditation with the Buddha this morning I have felt the urge to leave some tobacco in her hands, but I don't want to be disrespectful to either religion.

Any thoughts or help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Trinity,

I have heard many from many people that when they visit the buddhist monks, they bring cigs as an offering as the monks are unable to accept cash gifts. I suppose intention is what really matters. Spirit knows our heart when we act, sometimes even better then we do ourselves.
If it is out of respect & honor...Spirit knows and acknowledges whatever offering we give.
Sort of like the little drummer boy 2008 years ago. We give from our heart it is received in love :)

Thinking about it why can't we combine some relgious ceremonies/rituals or bits from one religion and bits from another after all the base line of all religions and beliefs is harm no one and love yourself as you want others to love you.

You know me T - I believe your gift is perfect but you don't know quite if it is....So why not mix (is that appropriate?)  tobacco with some other herbs together?  I know you love many herbs and so why not just blend them together with others that you feel more comfortable with.. How can you lose?

But it doesn't really matter - as others have stated, it is intent.. but you have your beliefs too and an 'true to you' might be a 'Blend"?    x

Cheers AW, I decided to go ahead and do it and left some tobacco in her hands, like you and Dr Daragh have said it's the intent behind the actions that matter not the actions themselves, in this instance anyway.
