It’s Always Worth Giving It A Go.

I received an e-mail yesterday from someone giving me a pat on the back because of something I had done.

I was really surprised by the e-mail because previously and publicly this person had been very detrimental to me and made scathing comments about my work practices.

I sat looking at the e-mail trying to decide whether to ignore it or not, in the end I replied asking why they had e-mailed me patting me on the back when previously they had been less than nice to me and about me.

I got back an e-mail stating they didn’t know what had led them to e-mail me and it was obviously a mistake on their part.

Now I know Spirit and been the push behind the original e-mail so I didn’t give up.  A few more e-mails flew backwards and forwards each one calmer and more chatty than the last and eventually hugs were given.

This morning I woke up to an e-mail from this person that simply said “I’m sorry”.  You have no idea how much that started my day off with a zing.

Because of what had happened in the past I could have simply ignored the original e-mail, but I’m a great believer that people can change and do change, I took some of my own advice and saw them as an enema rather than an enemy.

I believe it’s always worth trying to reach out the hand of friendship to someone, up to them whether they grab a hold of it or not.

If Spirit puts someone in your path, it has happened for a reason not always for you but it could be for them, take the opportunity to offer the hand of friendship, if you get knocked back don’t worry it’s not your fault the other person just isn’t ready yet, but when they are they will move towards you in friendship, because even if they knock you back they will know the door is open when they are ready.

Give a hug instead of a bug.

Blessings.

Bless you Trinity that is exactly the correct way to think.  You are an inspiration to me when you share with us how you work through the dips and bumps life throws at you.  Bravo my friend you are a peach!

Rosie thank you, I guess we are an inspiration to each other really and in truth I wasn't always such a nice person even if I pretended to be and if I managed to change then I know others can and if I can help them through that change even better.

Dr Daragh you are right if you say never you are closing doors, I try to say maybe.  Thank you
