Get Off Your Butt And Do Your Share..........
It was my daughter’s turn to make dinner, no I wasn’t expecting 5 star restaurant food, but she isn’t a bad little cook.
So I asked the question she is constantly asking me “When are you cooking dinner?” her reply had me falling about laughing
“Oh you know you are always saying Spirit will provide, well I thought I’d give Spirit a chance to provide dinner tonight” (teenagers huh)
I explained to her that yes Spirit does provide, but Spirit provides the ingredients, you still need to get off your butt and work with the ingredients.
I’ve lost count of the times I’ve heard and seen people just expect Spirit to provide whatever they want without them having to do anything other than sit and wait and whine and moan because nothing is happening.
Or Spirit provides the ingredients for them but because it isn’t EXACTLY what they wanted, or doesn’t happen EXACTLY as they wanted it to happen, they ignore it.
Look Spirit is good, all powerful, omnipresent, all that stuff, but he ain’t going to walk through the door for you, open the door yes, hold it open yes, walk through it…well that’s the part of the bargain you have to do.
Spirit is a bit like a personal shopper, he will bring things for you to look at but he can’t try them on for you, and he can’t make the final decision on whether you keep the thing or not, that bit is up to you.
If a work colleague of yours sat at their desk not doing any work, and you were running your butt off trying to get all the work done, and once the work was done, your colleague then stood up and took all the credit and reaped all the rewards, wouldn’t it piss you off, so why do you think Spirit feels any differently when you just sit around waiting to reap the fruits of his labour.
Spirit doesn’t work FOR you, he works WITH you, you and he are a TEAM, he does his bit, you do your bit, together you make it work.
Believe me you don’t want Spirit to turn around and say “Hey if you think I’m not doing a good job, and you are not going to help me then Adios Amigos, I’m outta here”.
Work with Spirit and Spirit will work with you and together you can move mountains.
As for my dinner, my daughter disappeared into the kitchen came back out and said “Spirit hasn’t left many ingredients, shall we have a take away instead”
You just have to love her.
