Bad Love III
By chance one day I ran into Jason. He had just arrived back in town. He was eager to find Greta and reunite. Greta was involved in a serious relationship but they had problems. I was sure, after so many years of agonizing over Jason, she would be ecstatic to see him. It was as if the Universe was offering her the second (make that third) chance she had been praying for.
Jason went to see her and declared his love and intentions to make it work this time. He said he had only gone because she had made it clear she wanted him to go. She had not asked him to stay nor was she willing to go with him. It seemed that both wanted the other to fight to keep them, but neither had.
Surprisingly, Greta rejected Jason. She claimed her feelings for him had changed. She told him repeatedly that they would never be together again. Jason took this to be the truth and left town again.
After he was gone and she and her new love had finally broken up, she admitted that she had not told the truth. She had wanted to be with him but she once again was testing him to see how important the relationship was to him. She expected he would sit around twiddling his thumbs until she decided to take him back. He did not. She was once again plunged into despair and regret.
It was pretty clear to me that this was a karmic situation. When the same thing keeps happening again and again with the same result you have to figure out what you supposed to be learning and then correct it. Someone was going to have to break that circle. Jason does not have the spiritual insight that she does (even though she chooses to ignore it most times). So it’s obvious she would have to be the one. I advised her if she ever got the chance again she’d have to be honest about her feelings, quit playing games and testing him, and fight to resolve their issues.
Jason was gone for 5 years. Then once again the Universe gave her the opportunity she had been praying for.
To be continued …
