Bad Love II
I think it may be helpful, if I tell the whole story of Greta and Jason. The names have been changed to protect the innocent and the not so innocent, I knew Greta very well so I know her side of the story. I have heard his side but he is a proven liar, so I take it with a grain of salt. I do not presume to know his deep spiritual desires or intentions. However, it is obvious from talking to and observing him, that spiritual growth is not a top priority.
Greta and Jason we engaged about 15 years ago. The relationship was rocky. He was using many drugs and cheating. Greta was the kind of girl who would stay with anyone just to get the validation of having a mate. Eventually he just disappeared. She had no idea if he was dead or alive. After a few years, she moved on and married someone else. That train wreck is a story for another day.
Throughout her marriage and after her divorce Greta continued to carry a torch for Jason. Six years after he left, he resurfaced. He said he had come back because through all the years he had never stopped loving her. He said he had changed and blah, blah, blah. She took him back of course. Soon after his return, his “ex-wife” showed up and informed everyone that he had two children and she wanted him back. He promptly sent her back to Ohio because he wanted to be with Greta. As the weeks went by he started feeling guilty about leaving his kids. He asked Greta to move to Ohio with him so he could be near them. Greta had some abandonment issues and rather than just agree to go as she wanted to do, she told him no to go alone. She wanted him to beg her to go or say he would not go without her to prove his love but he did not get that. He thought she just did not want to be with him and so he left. Once he was gone, she had no way to contact him. So once again, Jason was lost.
She agonized over this for years. The “Jason Situation” was the worst tragedy or her life. She felt he was her one true love and she would never love anyone as much. She had messed up her chances.
