MY homemade macaroni and SIX cheese (better than Kraft)
Cheese sauce:
1/2 cup milk
1/2 stick butter
1/2 pound each cheese ...and take your pick of 4...................... American, swiss, provolone, colby, cheddar, muenster, mozzarella shred for easier melting
¼ to ½ cup each romano, parmesan (depending on your taste)
OVER A LOW HEAT, combine all cheeses, milk, butter in a medium sauce pan till melted. BE VERY CAREFUL NOT TO BURN YOUR CHEESE.
PREPARE 1 pound macaroni of your choice...elbow, ditalini, shells, farfalle cook as directed and drain.
Place macaroni in greased baking dish (I use PAM) and pour cheese sauce over macaroni. Sprinkle seasoned breadcrumbs on top and BAKE for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Allow to sit and cool for 5 minutes before serving.
DO enjoy this….my mac and cheese has always been a hit with friends and family during covered dishes and picnics……
