In case you were ever wondering...I love to cook (well, that was a big...DUH!!!)! It brings out my creative side. My sisters and Mother could create such absolutely beautiful centerpieces and ribbons during the Holidays; I resorted to stick-on bows because, I felt I didn't have the patience to do those artsy craftsy ...and DAINTY things.  My Mother and Great Aunt Gert attended Finishing Schools when they were young women.  They both were quite feminine.  Then of course you had my MeMaw who, was the typical Southern Belle...quite soft-spoken, gentile woman.  My sisters take after these women.  I, on the other hand am a tomboy.  I played sports, I became a Volunteer Firefighter/Paramedic fighting fires along side my Dad. I am a bruiser....I will admit that straight-out.  I learned to take care of my own car...change the oil; fix flats, and the engine; change the battery, etc.  Even at a young age, I was a force to be reckoned with.  My poor relatives went to their graves hoping and praying I would become the dainty, gentile, Feminine specimen I was not.

But when I got in the kitchen.....LOOK OUT!!!! My sisters and brothers would come out and sit at the table and a most wonderful thing transpired......so many wonderful memories occur when I was cooking.  The conversations, confessions, admissions, and the singing that happened during those hours were and still are the best part. And of course my siblings would try and help...make rosebuds out of radishes or  palm trees out of celery but we ate more of their mistakes than I care to recount.  My greatest satisfaction is seeing their smiles when the meal was done...and of course knowing they have to do the dishes because I cooked!

So, I share with you..... to give you a little piece of Heaven I get when I cook!
