HAPPY EASTER
Today, Christians all over the world celebrate Easter Sunday in honor of the resurrection of their savior, Jesus Christ. In addition to its current incarnation, Easter takes some cues from Pagan culture, starting with its name - which is derivative of Easter, the Goddess of Spring. As such, it comes as no surprise that in Pagan cultures, the comparable holiday was held in honor of The Spring Equinox. Unrelated to Christianity at the time, the day celebrated fertility. Hence, the Easter Bunny (the earthly symbol of fertility!) which also represented Easter.
